Surgical/Temporary Dentures
At Pinnacle Denture, we know how important it is to maintain your smile and confidence—even during major dental transitions. Our Surgical/Temporary Dentures are carefully crafted and "pre-fitted" so they can be inserted immediately following extractions. This means you won’t have to go without teeth while your gums heal. Once your bone starts to shrink, temporarily liners will be added for stability and comfort and an assessment will be completed later on for permanent reline.
Surgical dentures, also known as Immediate dentures, are placed immediately over your gums after extractions. This provides added protection while your gums heal as it covers the extraction sites from trauma and food debris. Soft relines will be needed as your gums shrink and change shape with a “permanent” reline at 9-12 months after extractions once the shrinking has stopped.
Temporary Dentures is a great solution for when certain esthetic needs cannot be met during the creation of the surgical denture. In this case, a temporary denture will serve as a “guide” while your gums and bones heal and shrink. A new and final denture can be made when the gums have stopped shrinking to include all the esthetic changes you would want to make after wearing it for a few months. For example, if you want whiter teeth now or want a different characteristic of teeth.
