Immediate dentures are full dentures placed in your mouth right after teeth have been removed - so there’s no waiting period without teeth. They serve as a temporary solution so you can maintain your smile and facial shape while your gums heal. Once healing is complete, you’ll probably need adjustments or a permanent denture.
No - we take great care to make your dentures look natural. At Pinnacle Denture, we custom-match the size, shape, and color of your denture teeth to suit your facial features, skin tone, and speech. Our goal is that when you smile, no one can tell you’re wearing dentures - only that you look confident and comfortable.
With proper care, you can expect your dentures to last several years. Over time, wear and tear, changes in your mouth (like bone resorption), and material fatigue can mean that your dentures may need relining, repair, or replacement. We offer lifetime adjustments at Pinnacle Denture to help maintain fit, function, and comfort as things change.
Dentures may feel loose for a few reasons: your gums and jaw ridge naturally shrink over time once teeth are gone, changes in your mouth shape due to weight loss or aging, or even wear of the denture’s base or material. If they’re uncomfortable, pop out, or you notice slipping when speaking or eating, we can examine them and perform relines or adjustments to restore a better fit.
A reline adjusts the inner surface of your denture so it closely conforms to the current shape of your gums and jawbone. Because your mouth changes over time (gums shrink, ridges reshape), the fit of a denture will loosen. Relining restores fit, increases comfort, and helps reduce issues like slipping, sore spots, or irritation.
Implants are small titanium posts surgically placed in your jawbone, which act like roots of natural teeth. They can be used to support dentures (implant-retained dentures), giving you better stability, comfort and chewing ability than conventional dentures alone. When well-maintained, they also help preserve bone and facial structure.
It might not be too late - many people can still benefit from implants even if they’ve been without teeth for some time. What matters is having enough jawbone density to support the implant, being in good general health, and having realistic expectations. During a consultation at Pinnacle Denture, we can assess your oral health, take imaging if needed, and advise whether implants are a suitable solution for you.
